Are You Experiencing an Emplyee Disconnect?
Do your employees understand your company’s mission? Do they understand your company brand? How can you be sure? According to Joanne Sunjansky of the Key Consulting Group, a recent employee survey conducted by MMC Marketing Research and Consulting came up with some disturbing results. The study asked 1,727 professional men and women how well they understood their goals and how they fit in with the organization’s mission.
Here are two of the findings:
- Fifty-three percent either agreed or were neutral that their management is disconnected from daily business activity
- Forty-seven percent indicated they did not have clear job goals
If you are a supervisor, manager or executive, you should be concerned about these growing challenges inside your business. You need to be able to understand what your team member’s daily lives are like. You need a strategy to educate them on what they need to change and what they are doing correctly to effectively reach your company goals and be in step with the company mission.
If employees are unclear of their own goals, it’s unlikely that they understand where your company wants to land in the future.
This is the essential truth when approaching an indirect marketing strategy. If your employees cannot support your brand and company
philosophy then you will soon become disconnected from your customers or members.
